A busy few days with visitors over several days.  Friends from Corby, Orv and Linda, were coming to see us on Friday on their way to Scotland, but due to various disasters did not make it until Saturday.  We had sussed a good mooring with access for Friday, but had unfortunately moved when we got a phone call to say they were on the way.  Quick consultation with the map and new plans made to meet at the Navigation at Gnosall Heath.  Arrived shortly after Orv and Linda and spent the rest of the afternoon in the pub and then retired to the boat for a homemade curry.  A good mooring spot so we remained for the night.  It is always good to see friends and catch up on all the gossip.

Saturday nights mooring

Got up early on Sunday morning to make sure we arrived at Wheaton Aston in plenty of time to meet up with my sister and brother-in-law,Vicki and Carl, who were arriving later in the afternoon.  Found a good mooring at Wheaton Aston and checked out the price of the diesel, which is allegedly the cheapest on the cut.  Spent a lovely afternoon and evening with Carl and Vicki and went out for a meal to celebrate her birthday.

Monday decided to take Vicki and Carl for a short cruise.  Went up Wheaton Aston Lock, it made a change having extra hands to help through the lock, and carried on over Stretton Aquaduct and to the next turning point, where we turned and started back.  Moored up for lunch and arrived back at Wheaton Aston at about 5:00pm. Had a good evening with a tasty chilli, a glass of wine and good company.

Stretton Aquaduct

Tuesday morning and Vicki and Carl took us out for breakfast to Frankie and Bennie's.  Excellent breakfast!  I especially liked the strong hot coffee in a large cup and as many refills as you want.  Then went shopping in Stafford, which was a bit of a treat with a car as we usually have to carry bags back to the boat.  Later in the afternoon with all our visitors gone we filled up with diesel, used the facilities and carried on towards Autherley Junction.  Not sure yet which way we will turn when we get there but favourite at the moment is to head towards Gloucester.

A very enjoyable few days!

Couple of working boats breasted up!

It's busy up here!

We almost moored here but couldn't get into the side.
