Jeanie Deans is a 60foot narrowboat built by Norton Canes which we are fitting out ready to move on to and begin the big adventure cruising the inland waterways at the beginning of April 2012. Jeanie Deans gets her name from the Little Grey Men series of books written by BB (D J Watkins-Pitchford) which I read when I was at school and loved.

Day 1
We have now been living aboard Jeanie Deans for 12 days but have been emptying the house and sorting it out ready for the new tenants. We have moved all our possessions on board and are now trying to find places to stow everything. Yesterday evening had a farewell meal with friends from the basin, who are all getting ready to cruise for the summer. A very good evening with good food and company. Today is day one of our travels, but due to having things to do and several visitors we did not set out until 2:45 taking two of our visitors, Clare and Paul with us to share the bottle of bubbly they brought with them. Cheers Clare and Paul!! We are now moored at the bottom of Foxton locks and planning on heading north towards Leicester tomorrow.
