Spent yesterday in Loughborough doing food shopping and
modifying the washing machine which was not working properly. I arrived back from shopping dragging several
heavy bags to find Graham leaning out of the side doors chatting to the bloke
on the boat in front. Hmmm!! Thought he
was too busy doing important ‘stuff’ to help with the shopping. Typical bloke!!
Silly Jake stepped of the back of the boat and fell in the water! Graham had to fish him mout and then he ran off (Jake not Graham) and barked at a cyclist. She was very apologetic, not sure why she felt the need to apologise to us because our dog is an idiot:-)
Woke up this morning and after breakfast went into
Loughborough with Graham to buy him some new trainers and jeans if we could find
some (we didn’t). On the way back to the
boat spotted a laundrette. Got very
excited and decided to take all bedding and towels to wash as it would save the
time and effort trying to wash it in the dolls house washing machine which only takes about three
items of clothing. How sad am I to be so easily pleased:-(
After the exciting time in the laundrette got underway and
cruised to Zouch before it threw it down with rain. Decided to stop and eat lunch and continue
later when rain had stopped. Shared
locks with another boat and made it to Trent Lock where we turned onto the Erewash
Canal . Was helped through the lock by a lovely man
and his two children who pushed gates for me.
Moored up for the night before remembering that we should have filled up
with water. Ohh well have to reverse to
waterpoint tomorrow. The Erewash looks
interesting and I think we will be on it for four days two to the end and two
back.
Have posted photo’s of Ratcliffe on Soar power station which
is visible for miles, not pretty but has a certain charm of it’s own (or so
Graham tells me).
